Bravura Brunch

The North Suncoast Associates is sponsoring the 16th annual Bravura Brunch, Saturday, February 20, at 11am in the Stirling Hall at the Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club, 36750 US Hwy 19N, Palm Harbor, 34684. Enjoy lunch, a silent auction, and the opportunity to hear remarks by Matt Catingub, Grammy award winner, conductor, vocalist, and multi-talented musician. A musical program of Pops and contemporary selections featuring Steve Moretti on drums, Perry Orfanella on bass, and Matt Catingub on piano will complete the afternoon.
Cost is $60 per person; other levels of sponsorship are available. Proceeds to The Florida Orchestra.

The Florida Orchestra/North Suncoast Associates is pleased to feature the accomplished Matt Catingub. He will be conducting the Pops concerts A Tribute to Ray Charles on February 19-21 and spending the afternoon with the Bravura Brunch to share his musical experiences and entertain at the same time.
Known as a musician’s musician, Catingub is a conductor, pianist, saxophonist, vocalist, composer, arranger, record producer and captivating entertainer. The youngest son of the late great jazz vocalist Mavis Rivers, he made his Monterrey Jazz Festival debut on alto sax at the age of 17 and was quickly recruited to play with Dizzy Gillespie, Thad Jones, Ruth Brown and Kenny Burrel. He has performed with numerous artists, including Rosemary Clooney, Michael Feinstein, John Pizzarelli and Louie Bellson, and served as the music director for singers Jack Jones and Toni Tennille. In addition to being a prolific recording artist and arranger, his music was featured in the Oscar -winning film, A Beautiful Mind, and in George Clooney’s film, Goodnight and Good Luck, with Catingub as saxophone soloist.
After serving as conductor of the Honolulu Symphony Pops for several seasons, Matt Catingub was recently appointed as Principal Pops Conductor of the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra.
